Commissioning of the most advanced hot dip galvanizing plant in Europe by Minister Wolfgang Clement!
Minister Wolfgang Clement is expected in Höingen next Saturday. He wishes to visit Brinkmann in the industrial park.
BRISTA company boss Dieter Brinkmann has received one of Europe 's most advanced galvanizing plants after investing DM 10 million. BRISTA is combining a company open day on 19 June 1999 with the commissioning of the new galvanizing plant. In the process, BRISTA wants to present the new environmentally-friendly technology to a wide audience.
"Growth is the natural aspiration of a healthy organism", said CEO Dieter Brinkmann. For this reason he is developing the company into a forward-looking organization and does not shy away from making prudent investments.
The family has operated a galvanizing plant in the company in Höingen for over 30 years. Work is conducted in three-shifts at full capacity. "After the initial commissioning of a conventional plant, we installed the first continuously producing drag chain driven hot dip galvanizing plant in the 1970s", said Dieter Brinkmann when speaking about the Höingen-based family operation, which is steeped in tradition. The galvanizing material, which is produced largely in-house, facilitated the decisive step in this direction.
"Growth and constantly evolving technology" were the basis of the investment in an additional galvanizing plant. However, rationality and environmental-friendliness were also at the foreground with regards to the planning and execution of this new hot dip galvanizing plant.
The company experiences new challenges every day. In particular, as a result of the opening of the European market they have to keep pace with the competition. And the tasks grow on a daily basis.
Rising quality standards, flexibility and reliability are the prerequisites of a viable business relationship. "We are constantly striving to improve these prerequisites through active phases of development", affirmed Dieter Brinkmann.
BRISTA gives priority to environmentally-friendly production. This was the criteria for the construction of the new galvanizing plant that has extended Works I.
"Our new hot dip galvanizing plant already meets future demands for clean, quick, inexpensive and competitive production methods", explained Dieter Brinkmann at the trial run.
BRISTA has invested DM 1.5 million in environmental technology alone. The company, which has a workforce of 160, offers a clean work environment and emission-free workplaces, as areas subject to acid contamination are completely isolated. "It is the most advanced plant in Europe and we will soon be able to galvanize up to 240 tons of steel per day", said Dieter Brinkmann when explaining the benefits of the DM 10 million investment. The plant, which is located in the newly constructed 4,500 m² building, operates in a particularly energy efficient and waste minimizing manner. Dieter Brinkmann: "The EU emission limits, which are planned for 2002, will be significantly undershot. Waste will be recycled and as a result of heat recovery the energy utilization rate will reach up to 96%. Franz Brinkmann GmbH produces totally in harmony with nature because the wastewater will be recycled for new baths.
As a modern and environmentally-aware company, BRISTA is investing in the future.

Minister President praises commitment
With the symbolic push of a button the Premier of North Rhine Westphalia, Wolfgang Clement, put BRISTA's ultra-modern hot dip galvanizing plant into operation at midday on Saturday to the applause of several hundred guests of honour and citizens from the municipality at the Höingen Industrial Park . Operated in a three-shift rotation the new plant will increase the sales volume of the family business by 40 percent and also create new jobs. Wolfgang Clement was also full of praise for the forward-looking commitment of the company, which together with others has helped the North Rhine Westphalia region to become one of the largest exporters in Europe . BRISTA invested the DM 10 million well - in an area on the outskirts of Hellweg and Sauerland where there is still an ideal world in terms of the employment rate and number of apprenticeship places. It is for that reason that municipalities such as Ense are among the strongest of the state's labour markets. "That's why we are envied by many!" confirmed Clement. The Premier finally made reference to the important environmental aspect of the new hot dip galvanizing plant, which significantly undershoots all of the EU emission standards. It is also for this reason that the exemplary family-run business, Brinkmann, is to be congratulated on behalf of "all 18 million residents of North Rhine Westphalia". "BRISTA is very successful in the marketplace!"
The investment in Höingen secures workplaces and pushes down unemployment: "And that is something all of us want".
