Latest technology in operation
Minister for the Environment Uhlenberg visits Brista's main plant in Höingen.
"The high degree of automation, intelligent control technology and use of robots are very impressive", said Eckhard Uhlenberg, the Minister for the Environment, during his visit to the main plant of BRISTA at Ense-Höingen.
Accompanied by local party chairman Ulrich Häken, the local MP came to Ense in order to continue his series of visits to companies in the local region.
Uhlenberg and Häken pointed out that cooperation between the state and the economy must continue to improve. "As Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection, I am convinced that sustainable economic growth, innovation, and protection of the natural foundations of life can be more easily achieved by cooperating as a partnership than through state regulation", said Uhlenberg.
Accordingly, both politicians were even more delighted as head of the company Dieter Brinkmann and CTO Robbert spoke of the good relations with the environmental authorities as far as the construction of new plants is concerned.
In addition to the existing hot dip galvanizing plant, a highly advanced powder coating plant was put into operation only a few weeks ago.
Measurements are regularly conducted in the company as a precaution against possible pollution. In this respect, the company repeatedly achieves values that are far below the tolerance limits. An indication that here the latest state-of-technology has taken hold.
The fact that environmental protection is not just an empty phrase for Dieter Brinkmann is also demonstrated by the roof of his company: in 2006 the largest solar roof at the time in North Rhine Westphalia was constructed. Another example is highly topical: work on an alternative heat supply is currently being completed, which is made possible by the adjacent biogas plant.
"Economic and Environment Dialog"
In a concluding conversation the group discussed municipal, state and federal political issues. For the local Christian Democrats an indication that the "Economic and Environment Dialog", launched one year ago by Minister Uhlenberg, is a successful model, in which politics and business are able to exchange views and develop joint strategies for the coexistence between economy and environment.
