Birth of the company
Franz Brinkmann lays the foundation for a success story that has endured for almost 100 years – with a small 5-man business in Ense-Lüttringen. Here he starts producing drawing pins and gradually expands the customer base and product range of his small company.
Opening of the new production plant in Lüttringen
After the horrors and turmoil of the Second World War, Brinkmann is also committed to a new beginning. Caspar Brinkmann, the son of founder Franz Brinkmann, sets new trends and milestones in the development and expansion of BRISTA and its production processes. In a newly built production plant in Lüttringen, above all metal goods for the household sector are manufactured.
Start of production of steel basement windows
BRISTA begins producing steel basement windows, enabling the company to expand and assert its position as market leader over the coming years and decades. The main reason why BRISTA steel basement windows are so popular is because they are protected against corrosion by being immersed in anti-rust paint. In the following years, other innovative and high-quality products also help BRISTA to become an expert partner for building material and equipment dealers in the region and beyond.
Plant in Lüttringen
In 1965, BRISTA opens its new plant in Lüttringen.
Start of production at Plant 2 in Höingen
The 1960s to 1980s are marked by expansion and the addition of new production facilities. Production starts at Plant 2 in Höingen. A galvanising shop is installed, and from now on the basement windows can be hot-dip galvanised.

The conventional machinery originally put into operation at Plant 2 is expanded in the 1970s with a continuously conveying, drag chain-operated hot-dip galvanising shop.
Expansion of production capacity at Plant 2
Brista expands its production facilities at Plant 2 as the present capacity can no longer satisfy the demand.
Lüttringen plant
Growth and change – the late 1980s and 1990s stand for plant and product expansion, as well as growth through change. In the early 1990s, the ten millionth BRISTA basement window leaves the production line; a milestone that marks BRISTA’s continuous success and development process, and also marks a turning point.
Start of construction of Plant 1
BRISTA is heartened by an economic situation that remains positive, and sales expectations for Germany and Europe also make for an optimistic mood. This leads to the decision, in 1992, to close the main plant in Lüttringen and to relocate to the Höingen Industrial Park, where BRISTA’s headquarters stand today.
Construction of the new hot-dip galvanising shop at Plant 1
Shortly before the turn of the millennium, the focus is on tackling the next investment stage. One of the most modern hot-dip galvanising shops in Europe is constructed in a new hall covering 4,500 square metres. Then State Prime Minister Wolfgang Clement himself does the honours of officially inaugurating the modern production facility.
Commissioning of the photovoltaic system
The 2000s stand for the usage of resource-conserving and eco-friendly technologies. This also includes the commissioning of the photovoltaic system in 2005. Over 2,000 photovoltaic modules are installed on the roofing of the company buildings and annually generate more than 350,000 kWh of electrical power.
Construction of the powder coating facility
One year later, construction begins of a 2,500 square metre-large hall for the high-performance powder coating of galvanised and non-galvanised steel and aluminium.
This building project is completed in 2007. Thanks to the integration with the hot-dip galvanising shop, customers now benefit from even shorter distances, even more expertise and choice regarding the range of surface finishes, as well as from additional corrosion protection.

Acquisition of a new Dibalex roll forming machine and introduction of the "BRISTA PROFILE RAIL"
The new BRISTA profile rail with official test certificate: incredibly sturdy, incredibly light, incredibly good-looking.
Commissioning of a second photovoltaic system (Plant 2)
Acquisition of another expanded metal press
The lower blade of the new expanded metal press can be cambered to achieve a uniform immersion depth across the entire width of the material or for compensating for differences across the width in the raw material. Motors can perform the adjustment (cambering) during operation.
New construction of a modern grinding department
A modern production hall with an integrated high-performance filter system ensures the safe extraction and filtering of zinc dust. Diagonal ventilation is installed to capture the airborne dust with an air volume of around 30,000 m3/h.
Acquisition of a 12 KW fibre laser
